Meet Ruby!

Ruby

UPDATE
I’m all healed up and enjoying life!
I go lots of places with my foster family and love having my fur brother around. I have gained lots of confidence and am comfortable meeting all kinds of people. I love to ride in the car, go for walks and hikes and run like the wind outside where I can. I love to chew on my toys and spend lots of time laying around loving my humans.

I’m kid-friendly but sometimes bouncy, so my human siblings will need to be dog-friendly. I like to chase rabbits and chickens and I have a neighborhood cat that torments me regularly, though my foster parents won’t let me get him. My foster mom is a stickler for leash manners and I like to please her, so I sit, stay, heel, halt when she asks. I take my heartworm meds like a champ but hope those days will be over soon. I go back to the Dr. next week to get tested. Wish me luck!

Meet Ms. Ruby!
Ruby was found as a stray and obviously overbred at an early age. She also had bilateral cherry eyes that she has had fixed…and WOW…look how GREAT she looks! She is a 2-3-year-old laid-back play baby. She loves just hanging out with her people and fur siblings.

She is anxious about anything new and will need a quiet routine as she adjusts to her new family. She is still very young and since she was a stray we really don’t know how old she is but she loves to chew on anything, especially if her people aren’t watching. But she is a smart girl and takes redirection very well when given appropriate things she can chew on. She is super nosey and wants to find out what EVERYTHING is made of. She is a shy girl on the nervous side that jumps at anything new but with love and patience and continued socialization, she will get past this as well! She is also can be an escape artist and likes to explore! So a secure fence will be required. She likes to push limits and will need some training once she settles in. She is very vocal and talkative, but is super shy when meeting new humans or dogs, but warm up to them. She is crate trained and house trained and good with other dogs and kids! Ruby is a perfect little diamond in the rough that will make a great addition to the right family that will love her and help build her confidence!
