Did You Know?
Of the ~ 3 million shelter dogs and cats that are euthanized each year, about 80% of them were healthy or easily treatable.
Shelters just didn’t have room for them.
As a nonprofit organization, we rely on fundraising, donations, and volunteers to continue our work of saving lives, including dogs from shelters and those surrendered by their owners. This means that we need your help.
80% of dogs & cats euthanized in shelters were healthy or easily treatable. That’s 2.4 million healthy animals put to sleep.

Great Dane Friends of Ruff Love is proud to be a rescue that will give all medical care necessary to restore quality of life. We don’t turn away dogs because they are older or need extra vet care like some rescues do. In addition to vaccines, heartworm tests, and spay/neuters that all dogs receive, we often have a need for help with more extensive treatments. Please take a look at our Medical Fund for particular cases.

Our primary volunteer need is for more foster homes. We can only rescue as many Great Danes as we have foster homes for. Joyful, challenging, rewarding, and sometimes a lot of work, it’s worth it.
Some dogs come from traumatic situations. Some don’t. ALL deserve homes.
